My name
is Treyvine Donniel Roderick. I was born and reared in Columbia, South Carolina. I am the middle child of three boys and attended Dutch Fork High School
in Irmo, South Carolina.
My extracurricular activities included membership in Distribute Education Club
of America, Future Business Leader of America (FBLA), Golf, ROTC and swimming. I
have worked with the Meals on Wheels Program. As a freshman in high school I
knew that I would one day like to become a CEO of a major Corporation. I decided
to join FBLA where I learned that the only way for me to become a successful businessman would be to attend a four –your
college. During my junior year in high school I started looking at different colleges and universities in South Carolina. I found that Claflin
University was a school that made education of their student their first
priority. The teacher to student ratio also played a major factor in my decision. My
major is Business Administration with a concentration in Management. I have hade
the opportunity to work as an orientation leader here at Claflin and this year I volunteered at an elementary school as a
mentor. The quote that I like to use when I am working with others is “To
thin own self be true;” by William Shakespeare.
I plan to graduate in 2006
with honors, and attend graduate school to pursue an advanced degree in Health Care Management. In ten years my objective is to be working as a Hospital Administrator in New York City. As alumni I plan to support Claflin University
financially; specifically, their business Department. One issue that I would
like to help change would be to improve the number of African American males to enter institutions of higher learning.
